This full scale installation in the BEA Gallery in Miami Florida, exhibited drawings and built drawings as a structure. Typically structures don’t want to bend, but this particular structural model is built thin enough to illustrate the forces acting upon it. Two 14 foot tall walls were constructed and over 50 drawings of the structure were dispalyed on the gallery walls including a 14foot tall full scale elevation. Visitors were invited to tap lightly on the structure to watch it shimmer and wobble, seemingly instable, yet resilient and springy. Over 2000 custom 3D printed connectors were created to assemble as a kit of parts. Each piece of would is an identical 18” long, yet based on the socket they are plugged into the bend more or less.
The individual sockets are scaled up to the familiarr scale of furniture as a series of distorted stools are constructed for visitors to the gallery to sit on and better understand the features of the micro-scale components in the screen wall.
